A few snags along the way
We only have 3 weeks and 4 day left until we leave our house and make our way to Baltimore Maryland for Kayla's surgery. I have been trying to make sure that all things are taken care of before we have to leave so I called the Rubin Institute to make sure that everything was taken care of on that end with Kayla's insurance and her financial assistance BUT have ran into a few snags along the way. The necessary paper work for the insurance and financial assistance had not even been submitted to the proper places when I called them last week but since then they have been submitted and are being processed and It is looking like things are going to be taken care of before time for us to leave for Baltimore. I hope things do get taken care of on that end because if they are not we may have to reschedule surgery and we don't want to have to do that because March is the best time for us.... I just cant believe it is so close to time for the surgery. The closer it gets makes it more real and makes me more nervous. I was so overwhelmed today that I just cried. On a brighter note, we have had lots of donations for Kayla and have had a few successful fundraisers and there are more fundraisers scheduled for her before we leave for Maryland so it looks like we will have the finances we need to make the trip and for the 3 month stay and maybe even the other two trips we will have to take this year to have her fixator removed and to have her cast removed.... I am having trouble dealing with the fact that 2 weeks after Kayla's surgery my husband will have to come home and we will not get to see him for 2 and 1/2 months except through web cam chats. My girls have never had to go that long without seeing their daddy and I don't thing I have been away from him that long either for the 15 and 1/2 years we have been married.... Kayla's birthday is a week and 3 days and we are going to have a birthday party for her and our oldest daughter at the same time on the 2nd of March and I am going to let Kayla play until she wears herself out. we also have my nephews birthday party that day to so Kayla will have double the fun and I hope she does because I want her to have as much fun as she can before her surgery because once she gets that fixator on her leg she will not be able to play like she would if she didn't have it on..... Our oldest daughters birthday is not until May 16th but since we are going to be in Maryland for Kayla's surgery at that time we are going to have their parties together this year. I will be updating soon.... Thanks for reading......
